TECHTRONIC INDUSTRIES

Sept 2020 - June Present

Hired into the Snow / Chore New product development group on-site in Greenville, South Carolina.

Year 1 - Project Engineer 2

Assisted the development of the new generation of Ryobi and Hart cordless snowblowers including TTI’s first cordless 2-Stage snow blower. Responsibilities included the design of deep draw sheet metal chassis components and injection molded appearance plastics. Created technical drawings and tolerance stacks for components utilizing GD&T (ASME Y14.5). Field Tested and validated units across the US.

Year 2 - Project Engineer 3

As a Project engineer 3, additional responsibilities include project lifecycle management. Assisted with project cost and manpower estimates. Coordinated and managed field-testing across the United States. Introduced NX based FEA to the engineering team to reduce design time. Developed a new patented method for achieving low profile heated grips.

Senior Project Engineer 1

Further responsibilities include technical drawing review, project management and training of new design engineers. Coordinated concise cross-functional meetings to improve communication between teams and reduce electro-mechanical design issues. Designed and prototyped a new high-torque gearbox. Developed a new patented method for electric self-propel interlock to reduce mechanical complexity and assembly.

Year 3

Managed the development and implementation of a new snow blower from ideation thru production. The project included extensive cross functional work with industrial design, electrical engineering, sales and overseas engineering teams. Developed a new assembly methodology to drastically reduce assembly time and complexity. Performed extensive analysis on field testing data using Python, Excel and Power BI to develop new cross functional tools to better understand and predict new product performance.

DUAL STRAPPING SOLUTIONS  - CO-FOUNDER

Dec 2017 - June 2018

After winning the 2017 Capstone Expo for Mechanical engineering, our team of engineers co-founded Dual Strapping Solutions. Our device was created to secure irregularly shaped loads using polyester strapping, an industry first. Using polyester strapping instead of the prevalent steel banding improves worker and customer safety. We later went on to be finalists in the 2018 Inventure Prize. Check out our pitch!

My role included ideation, design, gear train selection, market research and assembly drawing preparation.
